The assignment said, “Write about anything,” but what does that mean? Anything is, technically speaking, used to refer to a thing, no matter what (Oxford Language). It comes from the old English ǣniġe and þinga, which literally mean “by any of things.” However, where am I going with this?

I questioned the meaning of “anything”. When someone asks you to think about anything, you start thinking about “anything,” the word, or the last thing you did (for me, it was microeconomics and tea). “What is anything?” could be a very philosophical question to ask. Can you even think about anything?

Your brain will never disappoint you, but it won’t help you either. Thoughts won’t stop until they reach their purpose. In this case, this would happen only when it has thought about everything possible.

We could argue that thinking about anything is the hardest thing ever because your brain is constantly racing and pacing through a million different elements simultaneously. How can I choose only 1 to write about? So that is why I channeled my inner high school spirit and went full philosophical about this. As a good philosopher, I can only give you questions and no answers (that’s for you in the comments).
